Job Description:

The Blake School seeks to hire a skilled and dynamic Middle School Algebra Teacher to join our outstanding faculty as a sabbatical replacement for the Spring Semester (January 14-May 31, 2019).  The ideal candidate will be capable of teaching Algebra 1 through problem-based learning and learner-centered pedagogy. The position consists of 2 sections of Honors Algebra 1 and 3 sections of Algebra 1. Zeal for working with middle school students is a must. Once hired, the candidate would be supported in visiting the classes and meeting with the teacher leaving for sabbatical to ensure a smooth transition for students and teachers. This position is 1.0 FTE. Blake is interested in candidates who will enrich the diversity of identity, lived experience, and thinking that makes our community strong and empowers our students to engage across differences.

 

The search committee will begin reviewing applications immediately. Blake will typically cover the travel and lodging costs for finalist candidates visiting from out of town.
