Position Overview:


The Summer Programs Administrative Coordinator serves as a key member of Summer at Blake’s leadership team. The individual provides administrative support for spring break and summer camps & classes. They are also responsible for working with the director to maintain all aspects of programming and ensure a welcoming and safe environment for all children.


This is a seasonal position: 5 hours/week from March 11 through May 31; 38.75 hours/week June 1 through August 9.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:


  • Key member of leadership team that oversees all aspects of camp programming and ensures a welcoming and safe environment for all children

  • Provide exemplary customer service for both internal and external customers by answering phones, responding promptly to voicemail & email inquiries and problem solving when needed

  • Collaborate with director to plan/implement camp staff trainings

  • Improve and facilitate daily check-in/check-out procedures & track daily camper attendance

  • Manage transitions between morning and afternoon camps

  • Manage transportation between campuses

  • Design and implement enhanced parent communication (emails, handouts, social media posts) while programs are in session

  • Order and pick-up camp supplies as needed

  • Assemble, meter and mail major program mailings

  • Other duties as assigned

Experience and Skills:

Minimum Qualifications:




  • High school diploma (college degree preferred)

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with all types of individuals, both within and outside of an organization

  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software

  • Ability to work flexible hours

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including editing and proofing skills

  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and multitask

  • Thorough and detail-oriented with the ability to plan ahead and follow through

  • Strong team player, willing to assist others

  • Strong initiative and motivation

  • Ability to adapt plans on short notice

  • Strong work ethic governed by a high degree of professionalism

  • Attuned to customer service—willing to go above and beyond to meet the needs of others

  • High level of energy and enthusiasm mixed with a seriousness of purpose and a sense of humor




  • Three to five years applicable experience working in a camp or educational environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and G Suite
