Job Description:

Position Overview:

The Upper School Learning Support Services Administrative Assistant is responsible for administrative support with the ACT’s and The College Board’s accommodations application process. In addition, this person assists with Testing Center and Learning Center duties. Other duties and projects which directly support the Learning Support Department may be assigned.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Administrative Support with ACT and The College Board accommodations applications process

  • Communicating with students and parents about applications for accommodations.

  • Submitting the online accommodations requests.

  • Tracking each accommodation request (when to submit, the status of the request, communicating the decision to students and parents).

  • Collaborating with the College Counseling Administrative Assistant regarding Special Testing students for the ACT and School-based testing for the SAT.

  • Coordinate accommodations for the PSAT with the College Counseling Administrative Assistant.

  • Coordinate accommodations for AP testing with the Assistant Director of the Upper School.

  • Assist with proctoring students with accommodations for the PSAT.

  • Assist with proctoring students with accommodations for AP tests.


Assistance with the Testing Center and Learning Center

  • Proctor students with extended time for Blake tests.

  • Assist students with Assistive Technology used in test-taking including scanning tests prior to testing.

  • Return proctored tests to faculty members.


Assistance for Upper School Learning Specialists with administrative responsibilities

  • Submit Bookshare applications.

  • Copy and distribute Blake Accommodation Plans.

  • Link Blake Accommodation Plans to the Extended Time list and "share" with appropriate faculty members.


Other projects and duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Three years receptionist/administrative assistant experience

  • Strong communications skills - written and verbal

  • Detail-oriented and thorough with strong organizational skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills - ability to interact with students, parents and faculty/staff ina friendly and professional manner

  • Intercultural competence - the capacity to work effectively with people with different identities and lived experiences

  • Excellent multi-tasking ability. Able to work with multiple and changing priorities

  • Ability to participate as a contributing member of the Front Office Team

  • Willingness to assist in other areas and with other tasks not defined in position description

  • High level of integrity & confidentiality

  • Strong Google Suite skills

  • Interest in and comfort with learning new Assistive Technology and software
