Job Description:

The Blake School seeks to hire a Specialist/Extended Day Teaching Assistant at the Blake Campus for the 2021-22 school year. This is a benefits eligible position. Blake is particularly interested in candidates who will enrich the diversity of identity, lived experience and thinking that makes our community strong and empowers students to engage across differences.



Experience and Skills:

Job Duties / Responsibilities:


  • Assist in developing and implementing a variety of games and activities throughout the course of a week designed for students in collaboration with a six-member team
  • Monitor and evaluate the interrelationship between children
  • Emphasize the collaborative, creative process of a group experience while also recognizing and supporting individuals’ growth and performance
  • Communicate effectively and frequently with members of the team
  • Perform day-to-day duties that support the ongoing program operations and specialist needs
  • Ensure safety and well being of children
  • Maintain responsible oversight of safety and health related practices in the extended day space
  • Hours: 11AM-6PM

Preferred Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma/GED 
  • Confidence with technology, such as the Google suite of apps, up-to-date computer software knowledge.
  • Knowledge of or experience with high-potential students
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Desire to work in a PK-12 dynamic learning community


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for lengthy periods/ navigate potentially crowded spaces
  • Ability carry up to 25 pounds
